Our Story
Keith and Lorraine Harris are both the passion and heart, tapping this liquid Canadian elixir, KiKi Maple Sweet Water®. They come by it honestly, through a life of pursuits including a 5 year foray as "back to the landers". From 1977-1982, their journey was more rustic - wood heat, kerosine lamps and everything harvested from the land; everything grown at home.
It was years of full-lives including family, careers and ultimately, a memory of this simpler life and rich past that brought them full circle bringing KiKi Maple Sweet Water® to the marketplace in 2009.
Maple Sweet water is a the pure liquid collected from the sugar of the maple tree. Because this refreshing drink is tapped straight from the trees, maple sweet water contains all the ingredients that fully nourish the tree. The maple tree draws this life sustaining liquid using the root system.
This drink is literally, "filtered by nature"TM.
Maple sweet water has been recognized as a refreshing and healthy beverage for hundreds of years. The first settlers to Canada reported North American First Nations collecting maple sap. They consumed the maple sweet water directly and used it in cooking. Other cultures have long since recognized the benefits of maple sweet water for a millennium. In Korea, Maple Sweet Water is called "gorosoe" which translates to "good for the bones". A legend relates this property to a 9th Century Buddhist monk.
Our KiKi Maple Sweet Water® has only 2-3% sugar by volume and the light maple flavour will take you back; reminiscent of the early days of Spring.
